Athens in Ruins

Before we headed home to Ireland, we explored Athens a little bit. The last time that I was in Greece (aka the first time) I had seen a tiny bit of Athens over a couple of hours. I hadn't really explored any ruins though, which was always the first image that came to mind when picturing such an old city. I did know from past experience that Athens is dirty. It's crowded, hot, and not very picturesque. But there really is so much around you; it's fascinating. So we skipped all of the things with entrance fees and just walked around learning a little bit about all of the incredible architecture and lives of the past.
